Project SEEK PresentationsEarly Intervention: An Outcomes Based Evaluation of Disparity in AccessPower Point presented at the 21st Annual Pacific Rim Conference on Disabilities, March 1, 2005, Honolulu, HI. Covers the need, methods, and results of an evaluation of equity in referral to and enrollment in Part C Early Intervention Services to for children and families from 6 demographic sub-groups (low income, uninsured, immigrant, limited English proficiency, homeless and military). Equity for homeless families could not be evaluated. Disparity was found for children who are uninsured, and those from families in the military or with limited English proficiency. Discussion centered on addressing these disparities, as well as how to study stigmatizing demographics such as homelessness.
